Chef is an AI-powered recipe generation platform built by Appchy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
When you use Chef, we collect the following information:
Account information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and display name from the authentication provider. We do not receive or store your password.
Chat messages: The messages you send to the AI chef assistant are stored so we can maintain your conversation history and provide context-aware responses.
Recipes: Recipes generated through your conversations are stored and associated with your account.
Preferences: Any dietary restrictions, allergies, or cuisine preferences you share are stored to personalize your experience.
Usage metrics: We track token usage (the amount of AI processing used per request) for rate limiting purposes only.
Your data is used solely to provide and improve the Chef service:
- To authenticate you and maintain your account
- To generate personalized recipe suggestions based on your preferences and conversation context
- To store and display your saved recipes
- To enforce fair usage limits via token tracking
We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or profiling. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Chef relies on the following third-party services:
OpenAI: Your chat messages are sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses and recipes. OpenAI's data usage policies apply to that processing. We use their API (not ChatGPT), which means your data is not used to train their models.
Google Sign-In: Used for authentication. Google provides us with your email and display name. Google's privacy policy governs how they handle your sign-in data.
Apple Sign-In: Used for authentication. Apple provides us with your email (or a relay address) and display name. Apple's privacy policy governs how they handle your sign-in data.
We do not use any analytics services, advertising networks, or third-party tracking tools.
Your account data, chat history, and recipes are retained for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the email address below and we will process your request within 30 days.
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication flows, and access-controlled databases. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You may also request a copy of the data we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email address below.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. Your continued use of Chef after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
